Taraneh Moshtagh’s work explores simple, everyday moments that we often pass by without noticing. “Stillness” and “belonging” are central and recurring concepts in her work; stillness is not understood as stagnation, but as an opportunity to pause, find peace, and step away from the flow of everyday life.
She is interested in depicting spaces and the relationship between the figure and its surroundings. Through painting, she seeks to separate fleeting moments from the passage of time and preserve them for longer. Her work focuses on the relationship between space, memory, and emotion, exploring how a familiar place can evoke a sense of connection and belonging.
