My practice is concerned with the fragile space between endurance and disappearance. Working primarily in watercolor, and at times acrylic and mixed media, I return to flowers, bodies, eyes, submerged forms and barren landscapes as carriers of memory and witness. Beauty in these works is rarely intact; it persists while being altered by loss, pressure and time.
I am interested in the moment when an image feels suspended between becoming and vanishing. The eye appears as a witness that cannot intervene; flowers endure damage; water obscures and preserves. Through translucent layers, stains and exposed lines, I try to hold together vulnerability and resistance without resolving their tension.
